My mother took me to Urgent Care because nothing was making me feel better. The doctor there told me, "You are perfectly healthy... physically."

And then he prescribed me some anxiety pills. Maybe it will help.

And if I have side effects, I won't know the difference!

What anxiety pills were you prescribed? I'm sure the bottle says "take only as needed" but please be aware that they can be highly addictive and have terrible withdrawl symptoms.

I was given alprazolam. I haven't taken it yet, but I've been doing a lot of research on it.

That's what I'm prescribed and had I know the serious dependency its caused me I would never have taken it. I only say this because the tapering off is horrible and I would NEVER recommend it to anybody.

Just Google "benzo withdrawal"; that should be enough reason to not take it. Hope you feel better otherwise.

as a person who has taken that medicine for an extremely long time, i've gotten to the point where i now only take it when needed & that's normally only a couple times a month (versus when i first started with three times a day). there's hope, seriously. don't be scared to take something you've researched & will help you feel better. just know yourself & get to know your dosage, dear :) ♥
